It is so sad to hear about yet another child who has been forced to marry, and who ends up dead. Who knows what took place after she was "married" to a 26 year old. What ever it was that happened this 13 year old child ended up in hospital bleeding from her genitals. She bled to death.

The point about this story is that there are some who are trying to stop the child bride practice, but there are others amongst the clerics who have proclaimed these people as apostates, and they have declared the legislation raising the age of marriage for a girl to 16 as unconstitutional.

Yemen is a very poor country... I could say that I can understand why there is so much poverty.... regardless, the people have been clinging to very old tribal customs including the bride price. These young girls are sold into marriage and even girls as young as 8 have been forced into these relationships.

I acknowledge that in the Medieval period it was accepted that little girls and young boys were betrothed to each other. The woman that we know as Mary Queen of Scots was married to the Dauphin of France at a very young age, but from what I have read I do not believe that the marriage was consummated. Unfortunately for these little girls, their marriages are consummated and they end up injured or dead, either from being forced into having sexual intercourse, or from attempting to give birth when their bodies are just not mature enough for the job. What is worse though, is that these girls will likely die when trying to give birth because of the lack of modern medical facilities that are needed for girls as young as 12 - the poor child in that story probably needed either a caesarian operation or she needed to have her waters broken. The poor child was probably exhausted from the effort, causing her unnecessary death.

It is a shame that the feminists continue to turn their backs on this situation. Screaming about abortion and contraception is not going to help these child brides. What is needed for these girls is a voice that will be strong in battling for their right not to be married off at such a young age.

Power Line - Al Dura Hoax Exposed?

The Al Dura Hoax is also known as a blood libel. In this case the boy in the photograph who is with his father was supposed to have been killed. The video footage that I have seen to date indicates that the boy and man were not in fact in any danger, that the Israelis could not possibly have hit that particular spot, and now it turns out that there is really no evidence that the boy actually died.

When the actual incident occurred the new footage was seen all around the world, and this alleged killing of a young boy became the cause for the Intifada against Israel. It has also been the reason why a lot of people around the world literally turned their backs on Israel. However, the whole thing has been a fraud - a hoax.  It was set up by the Palestinian factions who wanted to get even with the Israelis and provide what is known as blood libel.

A few years ago, I followed a case in the French courts regarding the exposure of this blood libel via the case of Phillipe Karsenty. The original verdict had gone against Karsenty, that is the verdict had stated that there was no hoax or fraud, but the French appellate court overturned that verdict in May 2008, and France 2 was ordered to release raw video footage of the incident.

On March 4 German public TV ARD have broadcast a documentary that confirms that the news report submitted by Charles Enderlin and broadcast by France 2 on September 30, 2000, is a fraud.

The evidence provided in the documentary is:

• via biometric analysis of the faces it has been proven that the boy who was filmed by France 2 was not the boy presented at the Gaza morgue. The eyebrows and lips are different.

•  using lip-reading technique the German TV read the father's lips. They discovered that Jamal al Dura gave instructions to the people who were behind France 2's cameraman during the filming of the scene.

• the boy whose funeral took place, as though it was Mohammed al Dura arrived at the hospital before 10.00 am, whereas the France 2 news report was filmed after 2.30 pm.

The deception of the al Dura hoax has caused irremediable damage to Israel. This is the problem with blood libel. It goes to show the depths to which the Palestinians will sink in order to lay false charges against Israel.

Recruiter of female suicide bombers

She is known as the “Mother of Believers” but this woman is extremely deadly in her actions. Samira Jassim was captured by the Iraqi forces and faced interrogation over her activities in recruiting female suicide bombers.

The women, after being raped, were convinced by this woman that they should blow themselves up to hide their shame. She worked with the Sunni militant group Ansar al-Sunnah in the Diyala province.

She had recruited up to 80 women to carry out their deadly task. The reason that this tactic was introduced is that it is haram for a man to conduct a body search of a woman, plus the ugly clothing that is worn makes it easy to hide a bomb underneath the garment.

UN Suspends Aid in Gaza – Hamas caught stealing again

The UN aid agency in Gaza has announced that it has suspended all aid shipments, accusing Hamas of seizing supplies of food.

The shipment consisted of ten lorries carrying flour and rice, which were taken from the Palestinian side of the Kerem Shalom crossing.

The UN Secretary –General Ban Ki-moon has stated that Hamas must immediately release the shipment, and he has called upon Hamas to “refrain from interference with the provision and distribution of humanitarian assistance in Gaza”.

Despite the stern warnings from the UN, Hamas have given what can only be considered a sleight of hand response by stating that the goods would only be returned to the agency

“if it turns out it is indeed its property”.

Such a statement is no assurance that the goods will be returned. It is the kind of statement that is intended to give an “out”.

Hamas is being caught out in its double dealing and to add further examples of the double dealing it has been reported that Hamas is ignoring Gazans who are not supporters of Hamas, and that these other people have only received limited financial aid from Hamas, despite having their homes destroyed owing to the actions of Hamas. (I will deal with these actions in another post)

He lost his daughters and a niece... share the anguish

An Israeli probe into the death of the three daughters of a Gaza doctor in a recent offensive has concluded that they were kiled by Israeli fire. The Israeli troops had fired shells at what was considered to be "suspicious figures in Dr. Isseldeen Abuelaish's house, believing they were observers directing sniper fire.

Dr. Izzeldeen Abuelaish is an Israeli trained doctor who is fluent in Hebrew. He denies that there were snipers near his house. It could be that the snipers were indeed hiding nearby, knowing that the doctor was a friend to Israel (this is speculation).

His response to the inquiry shows the good doctor to be a remarkable person:

"We all make mistakes, ad we don't repeat the."

He also added " I have two options - the path of darkness or the path of light. The path of darkness is like choosing all the complications with diseases and depression, but the path of light is to focus on the future of my children. "

Let us pray for the good doctor and his family during their time of sorrow and grief.

What happens if there is "Not in my backyard syndrome" for Gitmo detainees

A Saudi national released from U.S. detention centre at Guantanomo Bay, Cuba in September 2007 has retruned to previous activities and is believed to be a key leader of Al Qaeda operations in Yemen. What does that say about a foolhardy decision - foolhardy from the point of view that it has been orderd too quickly without thinking about the consequences of the new mealy-mouthed president of the United States?

Mr "smooth" Obama who is so careful about what he says, disguising his real agenda at the same time, has made a decision without thinking through all of the consequences. Surely he could have waited until he had done everything possible to ensure that these detainees, who are not political prisoners, but who have been actively engaged in an act of war, are located to some other secure location.

Ali al-Shiri is a Saudi national, and he was released from Guantanamo for rehabilitation in Saudi Arabia. That did not last long, because he escaped and returned to Yemen where he has continued with his illegal terrorist activity.

One of the major problems that has to be confronted right now is the "not in my backyard syndrome." From an Australian point of view I agree, we do not want this scum in our country. It is bad enough having David Hicks return to this country, and ditto Mahmoudo Habib. Both are traitors to Australia. They are not heroes. They should not be given a free ride by allowing them access to sue anybody for their detention. Hicks was discovered in Afghanistan, working with the Taliban. Habib was with similar types in Pakistan.

These detainees do not merit special attention since they have murdereous intent against westerners.

Al Qaeda leader demands terror war for Britain and the USA

As is typical of the Al Qaeda leadership, Abu Yahya al-Libi called for a new round of terror for western nations. Now this should not come as a surprise to anyone (except of course for the poor besotted Barack Obama fools who think that it will all go away now that Obama is the president of the USA).

The Al Qaeda leader urged the terror network followers to “rise up like angered lions” whilst declaring: “It is high time that this criminal country, I mean Britain, paid the price of its history”.

The illogic of the statement is that this person is blaming Great Britain because Hamas use civilians as human shields. You see women and children in Islam are really quite dispensable commodities as far as Hamas are concerned. Even so, yes there were many innocent victims, like the daughters of the Palestinian doctor who has always worked for peace. Could it be that his daughters were just in the wrong place at the wrong time, or were they targeted by Hamas so that they would be in the way of any retaliating fire – after all the doctor is a friend to Israel and speaks Hebrew. (and yes I am being very cynical in the way I am writing this comment)

My heart goes out to Dr. Abuelaish over the loss of his children in such distressing circumstances:

A distraught Dr Abuelaish said the events were the antithesis of everything he had brought up his dead daughters to believe. "I raised my children to work and be soldiers of peace," he said. "I believed medicine could be a bridge for peace between Israelis and Palestinians."

An army spokesman said a preliminary investigation into the incident had found that soldiers in the area of the doctor's house in the Jabalia Refugee Camp had been returning fire from the source of shooting towards them. The spokesman also noted the Israeli army did its best to avoid civilian casualties, a task made difficult by what he described as an enemy that took shelter in civilian areas.

If anyone is to blame for this man’s loss, then it is the members of Hamas who were using the area as a shield for their terror activities against the state of Israel.

They say it is unIslamic to hit your wife - but...

Imam Samir Abu Hamza in a lecture given in 2003 stated that under Islamic law men could demand sex with their wives. This is despite an Australian law requiring consent. In a cover up of what is preached within Islam i is now claimed that Islam does not condone either the hitting or raping of their wives. Now it seems that the Imam is trying to cover up his faux pas by claiming what he said was metaphorical.

A statement by the current Australian Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, on this subject is in my opinion very unhelpful. It seems to me that he is extremely ignorant about the real Islam.

Now I will give the benefit of the doubt to Islamics in Australia, that the majority prefer a reformed version of Islam - that is there is an effort to clean up the violence that is allowed in some Islamic countries. However, I cannot accept that Mr. Haset Seli is telling the truth about Islam as it is practiced elsewhere when he says of the Imam:

"His lecture was absolutely ludicrous, unIslamic and highlighted the ignorance of the man".

On the other hand, in this story I do see some hope for Islamic women in Australia, that they will be subjected to less violence in the future. The hope comes from comments by Sharene Hassan, vice president of the ICV because she is organizing a series of workshops for Victorian imams on the issue of domestic violence.

She says:

"There may be individuals who have interpreted this lecture as condoning violence against women - it's not the first time we have had this problem, " she said.

The good news is that imams are meeting to plan workshops to find ways of discouraging domestic violence among their followers.

It seems that there is a discrepancy between the two views expressed - the male says that the women are not treated with violence; the woman says that there have been problems in the past. I prefer to believe sherene Hassan, not the staff member from the mosque in Coburg.

Militant arrested over London attacks

Pakistani forces have arrested 7 militants, including a senior Al-Qaeda operative allegedly wanted for questioning in connection with the 2005 London attacks.

The militant has been named as Zabi ul Taifi, and he is an Arab national. It is not know what role he played in the London bombings.

Chechen Rebels declare Caliphate of Caucasus

Rusty from the Jawa Report has reported on the declaration of the leader of the Chechen rebels who has declared war on the U.S. as well as on Russia and has at the same time declared the caliphate of the Caucasus.

Here is what Rusty has reported, and keep in mind that once again we are faced with Islamist revisionist history, because the Caucasus did not ever belong to Muslims.

More on the Israeli strike on Syria

I have reported on this issue a few times and here is some further information from the Counterterrorism blog on why Israel felt that it was necessary to strike the nuclear facility inside the Syrian border:

Interestingly, while North Korea has been mentioned many times, the role of Iran has not been scrutinized.
I just wrote a piece for the Middle East Times on that topic.

Israel has been providing intelligence and satellite images to the U.S. about a secret Syrian nuclear program for several months, according to media reports. Discussions between Israel and the United States took place last summer regarding a possible strike. But when Israel found the matter so pressing that when they realized the U.S. was not ready to act, on September 6 they attacked a Syrian nuclear site. Hence the question: what is Syria really up to or more to the point what is Iran up to?

First, let's start with an underreported explosion that occurred in a Syrian military base outside Aleppo on July 26. Jane's Defense Weekly reported, citing Syrian defense sources, as saying the explosion took place during a test to fit a "Scud C" missile with a mustard-gas warhead. It quoted the sources as saying the explosion occurred when fuel caught fire in the missile production laboratory.

But there might be another explanation. Kuwait's Al Seyassah newspaper recently reported that a Shiite Lebanese religious cleric claimed the Iranians were allegedly supervising a chemical weapons manufacturing program and that tens of Iranian experts and engineers died as a result of that explosion. He also said Israelis attacked the base. He added that Western officials told him they received proof from Israel on the Syrian chemical weapons program. Even if Israel's involvement is not proven, what remains sure is that it must be very happy that a chemical weapons facility in Syria has been partly destroyed.

Israel responds to constant mortar attacks from inside of Gaza

 

An Israeli air strike on Wednesday has successfully hit an Hamas controlled post where rockets are being constantly fired into Israeli territory.

Despite the bleating about the alleged "oppression" of Palestinians, there is in fact very little evidence to prove the complaints. Instead, the Hamas controlled Palestinians have been constantly firing their rockets at the town of Sderot, and threaten the lives of at least 300,000 citizens at intervals of every 3 hours.

If Hamas refuses to be a part of the present peace process, then there is little chance of any resolution to the conflicts, because the aims of Hamas happen to be that they should be the ones who control the whole region. As a result Israel's existence remains threatened, first by the existence of Hamas, and secondly by the backers of Hamas, Syria and Iran.

GAZA CITY (CNN) -- An Israeli airstrike Wednesday hit a Hamas post in southern Gaza, killing two Hamas security men in Khan Yunis, according to Hamas sources.

Hamas members in Gaza City watch TV coverage of the Mideast summit on Tuesday.

The Israeli army said the airstrike -- the third in Gaza this week -- was in response to the firing of mortars into Israel.

According to the Israeli military, 11 mortars and Qassam rockets were fired into Israel on Wednesday.

Reacting to incessant rocket attacks from Gaza, Israel's government labeled the Hamas-controlled region a "hostile territory" in September, setting in motion a wide-ranging crackdown that includes military operations and limiting Gaza's power supply.

Gaza militants fire rockets into Israel every three hours, on average, according to the Israeli military.

Speaking at the Mideast peace summit in Annapolis, Maryland, on Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said "the continued shooting of Qassam rockets against tens of thousands of residents in the south of Israel, particularly in the city of Sderot, serves as a warning sign -- one which cannot be overlooked."

He said the ongoing attacks are a hurdle to achieving peace with the Palestinians and are the result of "the absence of governmental institutes and effective law enforcement mechanisms" in Hamas-ruled Gaza.

You can name a child Mohammed, but not a teddy bear - give me a break!!

An English teacher has been arrested in Khartoum because children in her class named a teddy bear that she intended to be used for instructional purposes, Mohammed.

The offense is insulting Islam, which is an offense under the Sharia rules in the Sudan.

 

KHARTOUM, Sudan (CNN) -- A British teacher arrested in Sudan after allowing her class to name a teddy bear "Mohammed" has been charged by authorities with offending religion, British officials say.

Gillian Gibbons, 54, is being held by police in the capital Khartoum after she asked her class of seven-year-olds to come up with a name for the toy as part of a school project, Robert Boulos, the head of Unity High School told CNN.

It is expected that she will appear in court Thursday, Sudan state media reported.

A British Foreign Office spokeswoman said Gibbons had been charged under Article 125 of Sudan's constitution, the law relating to insulting religion and inciting hatred.

The spokeswoman said the Sudanese ambassador had been summoned to the offices of the British Foreign Secretary David Miliband to discuss the case. Gibbons was arrested under the country's Islamic Sharia law after parents of some of her students complained to police.

Saudi promises a review of Qatif rape case

Prince Saud al-Faisal has promised to have a review of the case of a girl who has been sentenced to 200 lashes because she was raped.

In a typical Islamic fashion the Saudi authorities claim that they are receiving unfair criticism over the case. Al-Faisal is more concerned about the press coverage than about the punishment given to the girl, and then the attempt to claim that she was an adulteress.

Hamas will most likely not honour any peace settlement that is brokered by George Bush

The BBC reports that the Islamist movement HAMAS has reportedly stated that Palestinians will not be bound by any decisions taken at this weeks US-backed Middle East Peace talks. Ismail Haniya, the leader of HAMAS in Gaza, who is not attending the talks, has described the discussions as "fruitless".

 

Several of the Hamas leaders met at the Palestinian Parliament in Gaza city to sign a document stating that Mr Abbas had no right to make concessions in any peace deal.

"The people believe that this conference is fruitless and that any recommendations or commitments made in the conference that harm our rights will not be binding for our people," Mr Haniya said as he entered the building.

"It will be binding only for those who sign it."

Mr Haniya was dismissed by Abbas from his position of prime minister of a national unity government in June, shortly after Hamas seized control of the Gaza strip from the president's Fatah movement.

Hamas is designated a terrorist organization by the USA and Israel and is not represented at Annapolis.

It seems that Hamas is only interested in perpetuating the myth that Israel is occupying Palestinian land, but this is clearly not true. Historically, the Palestinians did not exist until around the 1920s. Gaza was won in the 6 day war, and Israel was entitled to occupy that territory. The same goes for East Jerusalem. It does not belong to the Palestinians. Therefore, we should take heed of the following (threatening) words of Mahmoud Zahhar:

Another senior Hamas leader in Gaza, Mahmoud Zahhar, told the BBC that even if the group had been invited, it would be pointless participating because Israel was not prepared to end the occupation of Palestinian land.

"We are very proud that we are not involved in this conference which will bring for us nothing," he told the BBC World Service.

"We don't believe that this is a real peace process, because without fulfilling our basic demand it will be just as previous agreements reached and unable to be practised practically on the ground," he added.

"Abu Mazen [Mahmoud Abbas] is not representing the majority of the Palestinian people."

Palestinian officials say, however, that as chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO), Mr Abbas is entitled to negotiate on behalf of Palestinians. Agreements are signed between Israel and the PLO.

Those "minority" youths are at it again

Once again the "minority" youths in France have gone on a rampage of rioting, burning cars and causing mayhem. This time the incident that has sparked the riots was the deaths of two "minority" youths who were illegally riding a motorcycle at top speed. The police involved in the incident have stated that the youths rammed the bike into them, but relatives of the boys are of a different opinion and claim that the boys were left for dead.

Police say the motorcycle was going at top speed and was
not registered for street use, while the two boys - who have been named
only as Moushin, 15, and Larami, 16 - were not wearing helmets and had
been ignoring traffic rules.

Mr Fillon, who visited the scene on Tuesday, called the rioters "criminals" and said nothing could justify the attacks.

"

Those who shoot at policemen, those who beat a police
officer almost to death are criminals and must be treated as such," he
was quoted by AFP news agency as telling parliament.

A library and a nursery school went up in flames in Villiers-le-Bel.

Rioting had spread on Monday from Villiers-le-Bel to other areas in the north Paris suburbs.

Ms Alliot-Marie has said the riots were organised and
criminals were using youngsters to lure away police while they pillaged
shops.

The 2005 unrest, also sparked by the deaths of two
youths, spread from a nearby suburb of Paris to other cities and
continued for three weeks, during which more than 10,000 cars were set
ablaze and 300 buildings firebombed.

Mr Sarkozy was heavily criticised at the time after he
called for crime-ridden neighbourhoods to be "cleaned with a power
hose" and described violent elements as "gangrene" and "rabble".


The BBC's Alasdair Sandford says that although plenty of
money has been poured into areas like Villiers le Bel that seems
irrelevant when tension and resentment between young people and the
police is so strong.

Rape Victim receives sentence of 90 lashes

It seems that nothing is about to change in Saudi Arabia in a hurry when it comes to women's rights. I am not a feminist, and it is probably the reason that I feel so angry about the way in which women are treated in Muslim Sharia dominated lands. The feminist movement on the whole has shown little in the way of outrage at the way that women are treated in such countries as Saudi Arabia. However, I do feel outrage, especially when the 19 year old and her boyfriend were both raped by a gang of 7 men, and yet both have been sentenced to 90 lashes because of the offense of "mingling".

 

Authorities in Saudi Arabia have defended a judicial sentence of 200 lashes for a rape victim.

The justice ministry said in a statement that the sentence was justified because the woman was in a car with an unrelated man.

The case has aroused controversy at home and condemnation abroad.

US presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton said the sentence was an outrage and urged President Bush to put pressure on Saudi King Abdullah.

The 19-year-old, who has not been named, was travelling in a car with a male friend last year, when the car was attacked by a gang of seven men who raped both of them.

She has become known as the "Qatif girl", a reference to the largely Shia town which she comes from.

Four of the men were convicted of kidnapping - but the court also sentenced the woman and her friend to receive 90 lashes each for the crime of "illegal mingling".

Last week the court increased the woman's sentence to 200 lashes and six months in prison.

It also banned her lawyer from the courtroom and took away his licence.

 

The Saudi justice ministry has defended the verdict and warned against "agitation through the media" - a sign of how sensitive the authorities are to the fact that the woman and her lawyer have sought to use the media to highlight the case, says BBC Middle East analyst Roger Hardy.

What is most alarming about this story is the fact that it is the Republicans who are remaining silent over the punishment given to the woman. It is almost breathtaking to think that the President of the USA is refusing to intervene on a matter that is against the human rights of the individual. It is in fact damning evidence that the White House seem to be in the "pay" of Saudi Arabia, which is an extremely unhealthy situation to contemplate. I hope that I am wrong on this issue, and that the silence is due to the fact that the Republicans know very little about the case. The verdict is totally disgraceful.

This is one of those unbelievable stories that shows how ungrateful some people can be. The man is from Algeria and he fled to Britain in 2002 after he was jailed for refusing to give up his home so that authorities could monitor terrorist activities in his region. He lost his case for asylum and is due to be deported but he refuses to go back to Algeria unless the British government pays for the flight.

The man in question has not been all that cooperative with the authorities, yet he has the temerity to claim that his human rights are being breached. I do not think so!! This man has been given food vouchers and accommodation but it seems that what he has been given is not good enough.

His attitude reeks of that Islamic need to hold others in contempt and to expect the dhimmis to pay jizya. The sooner he leaves Britain, and is no longer a leech upon the National Health Service the better.

Police complaints about Islamphobia in documentary rejected

Yes, that is right, it seems that the police went too far in their complaints against the British undercover documentary regarding what is preached in British mosques.

Following today's ruling, the
broadcaster called the police's actions "perverse" and said they had,
in some people's eyes, given "legitimacy to people preaching a message
of hate".

Ofcom said: "Undercover Mosque was a legitimate
investigation, uncovering matters of important public interest. Ofcom
found no evidence that the broadcaster had misled the audience or that
the programme was likely to encourage or incite criminal activity.

"On
the evidence (including untransmitted footage and scripts), Ofcom found
that the broadcaster had accurately represented the material it had
gathered and dealt with the subject matter responsibly and in context."

The programme featured undercover
recordings from speakers alleged to be homophobic, anti-Semitic, sexist
and condemnatory of non-Muslims.

Excerpts from preachers and
teachers included "Allah created the woman deficient" and "by the age
of ten, it becomes an obligation on us to force her (young girls) to
wear hijab and if she doesn't wear hijab, we hit her".

Other
statements included "take that homosexual and throw him off the
mountain" and "whoever changes his religion from Al Islam to anything
else - kill him in the Islamic state".

Police initially
launched an investigation into whether criminal offences had been
committed at the mosques and other organisations featured in the
programme.

They then said that it considered offences may have
been committed by those involved in the production and broadcast of the
programme, specifically in stirring up racial hatred.

After
the Crown Prosecution Service advised that the prospect of conviction
was unlikely, police referred Undercover Mosque to Ofcom, complaining
that intense editing had misrepresented those featured in the
programme.

Ofcom also rejected
the 364 viewers' complaints it received after the programme was
broadcast, which it said appeared to be part of a campaign.

20 terror suspects arrested in Europe - International Herald Tribune

A Europe wide sweep has successfully disrupted an Islamic cell that was active in recruiting murder-suicide bombers for attacks in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Italian police have announced the arrest of 20 suspects.

The Italian police said the suspects, mostly Tunisians had been arrested across Europe as part of the sweep against a cell based in the northern Italian region of Lombardy. In executing the arrest warrants, the police said that they found Qaeda training manuals for making explosives, detonation devices and poisons, and instructions of guerilla tactics.

The suspects were wanted on charges ranging from association with the aim of committing international terrorism to falsifying documents to aid illegal immigrants.

The group's members had been indoctinated in militancy in mosques since at least 1998. In one intercepted call, a suspected cell member said that "things are being done with extreme calm; hasted does not bring the desired results."

Eleven of the suspects were arrested in the Italian cities of Milan, Reggio Emilia, Imperia and Bergamo. Nine others were arrested on warrants issued in France, Britain and Portugal.

The Lomabardy cell has ties with a group of Islamics in the neighbouring Emilia Romagna whose aim is to establish an Islamic state extending from Morocco to China. Intercepted phone calls made clear the aim of sending murder-suicide fighters to Iraq via Syria, including specific instructions on shaving off beards before departure to give the "Impression of making a peaceful trip".

In Britain, the authorities said that two suspects have been arrested in London and Manchester and faced extradition to Ital. The men have been identified as Ali Chehidi and Mohamed Khermiri who are accused of forging documents to help volunteers enter Italy illegaly.
